In July 2009, the RVR-C.V. Starr Center for Corporate Governance completed a project that involved evaluating EDC’s corporate governance practices and providing recommendations for bringing EDC "one notch" above other companies in the practice of good corporate governance. Among other things, the project determined the effects of EDC’s corporate governance practices on the values and work ethic of its employees, as well as how those practices are manifested in the company’s operations and in its relations with the communities within it operates. With the assistance of the Social Weather Stations, the Center administered an online survey to the company's employees to determine their perceptions on issues relating to governance, culture, and ethics at EDC.
